Everything we are designing is for the purpose of promoting and creating community. All of our major design elements (Sport Court, Performance Stage, and Café) will be activities that require multiple participants. It will be nearly impossible for a student to be isolated or feel left out of the activities that are going on.

The biggest new activities students will experience will be in the Performance Stage, Sport Court, and Video Game elements.
- The Performance Stage will be a small dance floor surrounded by risers. On top of the risers will be a DJ booth. Students will be involved in various competitions, contests, and other events that will take place throughout the semester at Blu.
- The Sport Court is a basketball court that is enclosed by plexi-glass. This area will be used for many sport activities besides simply basketball. This will be an area that will be a great place for students to make friends and get connected to leaders at Blu.
- Video Game elements is one of the most exciting aspects of the Youth Commons. Rather than simple TVs with video games against the wall, the Youth Commons will have large projector screens that are suspended from the ceiling. The games being played by students will be in plain view of all the students that are in the area.

Blu services are constantly changing and growing. It is our intent that what is taught, seen, and experienced is new and engaging every single week. We do our best to incorporate many different visual elements and experiences in order to communicate the message we are bringing. Therefore, in the new building, this will continue to take place. The more creative we are, the more creative we become.

No. In fact, the new building will help us carry out our philosophy. The purpose statement of Blu is to help students discover their identity through a personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ. Simply put, it means “Become You.” Everything we do on Wednesdays is for the purpose of connecting students with Jesus. How we do this is through the message and the worship, as well as relationship. The new building will be designed in such a way that every single experience a student will have will be done in such a way that they are constantly interacting with leaders and other students. We want it to be impossible to be alone in the Youth Commons. We do this because we believe relationships are one of the key elements in the process of Spiritual Growth for the students.
